Play summary: There are two ways to play “Take it Easy”. The first is a competitive way - the player is given a series of tiles with three colors on it, and have to place them into a chart. The user doesn’t know what the next tile will be, and will have to gamble based on the understanding of color value and the fact that longer lines are worth more. The second method of play is “puzzles” Players are given a full puzzle, and an objective - number of up and down lines, or number of color matches, or a specific layout. When they complete that objective, the can move on to the next puzzle.
Critical review:
The game rules are simple, but require significant critical thinking skills. What is the objective that the player must focus on? What will optimize the point value? This series of logic puzzles is elegant, without distracting animations or complicated rules. It is simple enough for a young child to attempt the game, but is entertaining for an older player.
Why include it?
Logic puzzles and other forms of games help to develop the brain, encourage mental resiliency, and develop creative solutions. This game challenges the player to evaluate consequences and take risks, along with the ability to match colors and look for patterns.
