Plot summary: All sorts of strange things happen when twins Jared and Simon and their older sister Mallory move into their Great-Aunt Lucinda’s house.  Everything seems to be going wrong - and Jared is blamed for all of it.  But maybe he can find the answers to all of the things that are plaguing the family in “Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World.”  Or maybe, it will make everything worse.

Critical review: Mark Hamill is a marvelous reader, with an appealing baritone voice.  His  steady pace with which he approaches the material is very understandable.  Also worthy of note is his use of inflections during moments of high dramatic tension; he is able to add drama to the story without impacting the overall auditory appeal.  The narration significantly augments the original story.

Why include it?
Audiobooks help stimulate other aspects of the brain, making reading into a multisensory experience.  The original book in this series is a third-grade treasure - the audiobook edition adds even more appeal.
